29.01.2006 Jake Meadley - Dance Instructor for Time2Dance and Swing Patrol Australia Day 2006 When I first heard Zootsuit playing at the Albury/ Wodonga jazz ball in 2003, I could barely contain myself as I jumped up on the dance floor with my dance partner and cut the rug all night! Since that night I have tried to make it to as many of their gigs as possible. Morris winery, Brown Brothers winery, Commercial Club... I just love cutting the floor, and sometimes the grass, when Zootsuit are up playing. This week Zootsuit played at the Australia Day Celebrations in Wodonga, it was a hot day, very hot. But Zootsuit took the heat, and in true jazz style made it cool. I couldn't contain myself and jumped up to the Jump Swing, dancing the afternoon away.
These guys are one of the main reasons I started teaching up here. To get others up dancing to complete the full picture of Swing. Live music by these real jazz musicians, with real, original swing dancing... just like the good ol' days!
